How Much Notice Do You Need to Book a Disposal in Singapore?

  • by

We get this question almost every day. You have an old sofa, a spoilt fridge or a pile of boxes in the corner. You want them gone, but you don’t know how early you need to call. Do you need a week? Two days? Can you message tonight and get it cleared tonight?

This guide walks you through how notice periods usually work, when it makes sense to book a bit earlier, and why we’re happy to take your job at the last minute, even after dark.

How much notice do disposal services usually need?

It depends on who you book with. Many services ask you to book a few days ahead. Weekend slots go fast, so some customers wait a week or more for a Saturday. Other companies only answer messages during office hours. If you text them at 9pm, they reply the next morning, and you still have to fit into whatever slot they have left.

Most of this comes down to planning on their side. A disposal company has to plan its routes, assign a lorry and send enough people to carry heavy items. When they run a tight schedule, they need time to slot you in. If every crew has a full day, you wait.

Waiting works fine if you plan ahead. Most people don’t, and that’s normal. The old mattress sits in the store room for weeks. Then the new bed arrives on Thursday, and suddenly the mattress has to go now. Or your landlord tells you the unit must be empty by Sunday. Real life rarely gives you a week’s notice, so a disposal service shouldn’t demand one either.

When should you book a bit earlier?

Last minute works for most jobs. Still, a day or two of notice makes things smoother in a few situations:

  • You’re moving out. Your handover date won’t move, so lock in a slot early and cross one thing off your list. You can then pack and clean without worrying about the bulky stuff.
  • You’re clearing a whole flat. A full house of furniture may need more people or a bigger lorry. If you tell us a day ahead, we send the right crew and finish in one trip.
  • You need an exact time. Maybe you want us there before the new furniture arrives, or before the contractor starts work. Book early and you get first pick of the timing.
  • Your condo needs a lift booking. Many condos ask residents to book the service lift. Check with management first, so we can go straight up when we arrive.
  • You have unusual items. Pianos, safes or very large cabinets may need extra hands. Send us photos early so we plan properly.

If none of these apply to you, don’t overthink it. Just message us when you’re ready.

Easy Disposal: last minute is OK, even at night

Life doesn’t follow a schedule, so we don’t make you follow ours. We built Easy Disposal around the way people in Singapore actually live: busy days, late dinners and plans that change on short notice.

Same-day bookings

Message us in the morning and we can often clear your items the same day. You don’t need to wait for a free slot next week. If we can fit you in today, we tell you straight away. If we can’t, we give you the earliest time we have.

Night slots

Most of our customers work during the day. Many of them only start thinking about the old sofa after dinner. That’s why we also take jobs in the evening and at night. You don’t need to take leave or ask a family member to wait at home for a lorry. Come home, message us, and we come to you.

We know HDB corridors and condo lifts get quiet at night. Our team moves carefully and keeps the noise down, so your neighbours stay happy too.

Last minute is normal for us

We handle these situations all the time:

  • You’re moving out tomorrow and the landlord wants the unit empty.
  • Your new fridge arrives in the morning, and the old one still sits in the kitchen.
  • Your renovation just finished, and leftover junk blocks the corridor.
  • You bought a new bed, and now a mattress leans against the wall with nowhere to go.
  • You finally decided to declutter, and you want it done before you change your mind.

None of these feel like emergencies to us. They’re just regular jobs, and we treat them that way. You have an unwanted item. You just need someone to take it away without making your life more difficult. That’s exactly what we do.

How to book fast

The more you tell us upfront, the faster we can confirm. Send us a message with:

  1. Photos of the items. A quick phone snap is enough. Photos help us bring the right number of people and give you an accurate price.
  2. Your address. Include the floor, and tell us whether your block has a lift. For condos, let us know if you need to book the service lift.
  3. When you want it cleared. Something like “today after 8pm” or “tomorrow before noon” works.

We reply with a quote and a time slot. Once you confirm, our team comes to your door, carries everything out and takes it away. You don’t need to bring anything downstairs, dismantle furniture or find bags and tape. We handle the heavy lifting from start to finish.

FAQs

Is there a minimum notice period? No fixed minimum. Same-day is OK. The earlier you message, the more time slots you can choose from.

Can you come at night? Yes. Evening and night slots are available, so you can book after work.

Is it more expensive to book last minute? We’ll tell you the price upfront before you confirm, so there are no surprises.

What if I need it cleared on a weekend? Weekends are fine. Just message us early if you have a fixed time in mind.

Do I need to be home? Usually someone should be there to let us in and point out the items. If that’s tricky, tell us and we’ll work something out.

Got something to clear?

No need to plan days ahead. Snap a few photos, send them to Easy Disposal, and tell us when you want it gone. Today, tonight or tomorrow, we’ll take it from there.
